The Hurunui Community Development Trust is offering families the opportunity for assistance in buying a home of their own.
Formed with the mission to support and restore the community following the devastating earthquake in 2016, we are a non-profit organisation which builds houses for first home buyers using shared equity. The shared equity format is flexible so we can tailor our offering to your circumstances. This means that as a buyer, your family will have the ability to buy a better house, at market value, with 15 years to pay back the trust’s share (interest free).
Ideal candidates are those who are already in the Waiau area, or seek to make a home here. They’ll be involved in community groups, have skills to offer the community’s businesses, and will enjoy the country lifestyle that this special region offers. Any first home buyer is welcome to apply.
